Anaheim Orange and Lemon Association Packing House

historic place

The Anaheim Orange and Lemon Association Packing House, located in Orange County, is a historic place. This Mission Revival style building was constructed in 1919. It functioned as a Sunkist citrus packing house, a vital part of the region's agricultural economy. Here, oranges and lemons were washed, graded, and packed into crates before being loaded onto railcars for national distribution. This facility operated along a railroad spur. Packing operations at this site concluded in 1955. In 2015, the Anaheim Orange and Lemon Association Packing House was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The building underwent adaptive reuse and reopened in 2014 as a food hall and marketplace. It is one of the few remaining packing houses from Orange County's agricultural era. This site highlights Anaheim's agricultural heritage and its historical connection to the citrus industry.
