Fresno Brewing Company Office and Warehouse

historic place

The Fresno Brewing Company Office and Warehouse, a historic place in Fresno, California, was erected in 1907. This two-story brick building, with Romanesque design, served as the administrative office and storage for the larger Fresno Brewing Company complex. The brewery was established in 1899 by Ernst Eilert. It produced various beers until Prohibition began in 1919, halting brewing operations. During this period, the company bottled soft drinks and made ice cream. Beer production resumed in 1933. In 1955, the main brewery complex, including its six-story brewery, was demolished. This office and warehouse building, however, survived. It remains one of Fresno's oldest examples of industrial architecture and one of the few early 20th-century buildings constructed entirely of brick.
