Maubridge Apartments

The Maubridge Apartments, located at 2344 Tulare Street in Fresno, California, is a historic place. Constructed between 1911 and 1912, it stands as the earliest substantial apartment building still present in Fresno. The name 'Maubridge' combines the surnames of its financiers, prominent local doctors Dr. J. L. Maupin and Dr. D. H. Trowbridge, Sr. Architect Benjamin G. McDougall designed the building. A notable feature is the original Otis electric elevator, installed on June 12, 1911. This elevator is one of the oldest operating west of the Mississippi River.
