Rehorn House
historic place
The Rehorn House, a historic place in Fresno County, California, was completed in 1906. This Georgian Revival style home was built for Frank Rehorn, a pioneer building contractor who shaped early Fresno. Construction, begun in late 1904, faced delays from union strikes due to Rehorn's anti-union position. After Rehorn's death, the house served as a convent from 1941 to 1970. By 1973, it became the Villa Carmel Home for unwed mothers. In 1976, architects purchased and restored it for their office. The Rehorn House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. On February 1, 2016, a fire completely destroyed the structure. This site is significant for its connection to a prominent Fresno builder and its architectural history.
