Charlotte and Robert Disney House
historical marker
The Charlotte and Robert Disney House, a 1914 Craftsman bungalow at 4406 West Kingswell Avenue in Los Angeles, California, received a historical marker in 2023. In August 1923, Walt Disney moved here, living with his aunt Charlotte and uncle Robert. Walt Disney began his animation career in the house's garage. On October 16, 1923, he signed the contract for his "Alice Comedies" series here, marking the official birthdate of the Walt Disney Company. Designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument in 2016, the house was later restored. This site is significant as the origin of Walt Disney's film career.
