The Hollywood Palladium, a historic place in Los Angeles County, opened on October 31, 1940. Architect Gordon B. Kaufmann designed the building in a Streamline Moderne, Art Deco style. This venue, with a capacity for 4,000 people, hosted big bands, then later rock, punk, and hip hop acts. It also held political events. In 2016, the Hollywood Palladium was designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
