Roosevelt Building, Los Angeles
historic place
The Roosevelt Building, a historic place in Los Angeles, California, was completed in 1926. Situated at the northeast corner of South Flower and West Seventh Streets, it was designed by the architectural firm of Curlett and Beelman. This twelve-story structure exemplifies the Italian Renaissance Revival style. Its exterior features off-white terra cotta, crafted to resemble rusticated stone blocks. Named after President Theodore Roosevelt, the building was developed by the Sun Realty Corporation. It became a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument in 1988 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. Today, the Roosevelt Building houses residential lofts and a Metro Red Line station entrance. It remains an important example of its architectural style in the city.
