historic place
The Gerry Building is located at 910 South Los Angeles Street, within the city's Fashion District. This nine-story concrete structure was completed in 1947. Architects Maurice H. Fleishman and Herbert O. Alden designed the building in the Streamline Moderne style. Its exterior features rounded corners and curved tiers of windows. The building originally housed garment manufacturers and fashion showrooms. It continues to serve as a center for fashion showrooms and creative office spaces. The Gerry Building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. It is also recognized as Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument number 708. The building stands as an example of post-World War II Modernism in downtown Los Angeles.
