Title Guarantee and Trust Company Building
historic place
The Title Guarantee and Trust Company Building is located in Los Angeles, California. This historic place was designed by the architectural firm Parkinson and Parkinson. Construction for the Art Deco style skyscraper was completed in 1930. Originally, the building served as commercial office space. Today, it has been converted into loft-style apartments. Inside, the elevator lobby features six murals by Hugo Ballin, which depict various phases of Southern California history. The Title Guarantee and Trust Company Building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 26, 1984. It is recognized for embodying the distinctive characteristics of the Art Deco style from the time it was built. The building's design also notably included unoccupied space above the twelfth floor, allowing it to exceed the height limits of its era. This structure remains a significant example of early 20th-century architecture in Los Angeles.
