Burnham--Marston House
historic place
The Burnham--Marston House in San Diego, California, is a historic place built in 1907. Architects Hebbard and Gill, with Irving Gill as the designer, created this residence for Dr. Frederick and Lilla Burnham. The Burnhams acquired the property in 1906. The house showcases the Prairie style, featuring brick and half-timber construction. This design represented a notable shift from the English Cottage tradition, introducing the Midwest Prairie Style to San Diego. Located on Seventh Avenue, it is part of a unique cluster of architecturally significant homes. The Burnham--Marston House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 22, 1986. It stands as an important example of San Diego's early 20th-century architectural development.
