The John Ginty House is a historic place in San Diego, California. This large Victorian residence was constructed in 1886 by businessman John Ginty. It was originally situated at the highest point on Cortez Hill. The house displays a Stick Eastlake architectural style. It was enlarged in 1889, when Queen Anne elements, including a tower, were added. In 1999, the John Ginty House was moved two blocks to its present location to save it from demolition. It was designated a San Diego Historic Landmark in 1991 and subsequently listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 18, 2006. This residence serves as a notable example of late nineteenth-century residential design in San Diego, showcasing typical decorative elements of its period.
