Albert Wilford Houses
historic place
In San Francisco's Pacific Heights, at 2121 and 2127 Vallejo Street, you'll find the Albert Wilford Houses. These two adjoining residences were built in 1890. They are a unique example of Queen Anne architecture, standing out among the city's many Queen Anne homes. Their distinctive features include ostrich-leather fascia bands and equilateral-arched domical bay roofs, elements not commonly documented elsewhere. Albert Wilford was the designer, builder, owner, and developer of these properties. He was a small-scale developer and carpenter who immigrated from Sweden. The Albert Wilford Houses were listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 29, 1985. This site is significant for its individual architectural style.
