Belden, C. A., House
historic place
The C. A. Belden House is a historic place located in San Francisco, California. It was completed in 1889. Architect Walter J. Mathews designed the house in the Queen Anne style. This three-story structure features a steeply pitched gable roof and two corner turrets with conical roofs. Its exterior includes fish-scale shingles and horizontal siding, with decorative carved and plaster elements. The house was built for Charles A. Belden, who was the treasurer of an importing company. It stands on Gough Street, facing Lafayette Park in the Pacific Heights neighborhood. The C. A. Belden House was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 11, 1983. It remains a notable example of Queen Anne architecture in San Francisco.
