Gibb, Daniel, & Co. Warehouse
historic place
The Gibb, Daniel, & Co. Warehouse is a historic place in San Francisco, located at the southwest corner of Vallejo and Front Streets. This brick warehouse was constructed in 1855 by Daniel Gibb, a Scottish commission merchant. It is one of San Francisco's oldest surviving warehouses from the Gold Rush era, illustrating the city's trade practices in the 1850s. The building was damaged in the 1906 Earthquake and Fire, but it was rebuilt to its original appearance. Later, it operated as the Trinidad Bean and Elevator Company. In 1976, the warehouse was designated San Francisco Landmark No. 91. This site is significant for its connection to San Francisco's early commercial development and its endurance.
