Henry Geilfuss House
historic place
The Henry Geilfuss House, located at 811 Treat Avenue in San Francisco, is a historic place. This Italianate-style residence was built in 1882. It was designed by Henry Geilfuss, a German-born architect who moved to San Francisco in 1876. Geilfuss was a prolific architect, responsible for approximately 400 homes in the San Francisco Bay Area. He designed this house as his personal residence and lived here from 1882 until 1900, during the most productive years of his career. The house is significant both as an excellent example of Italianate architecture and for its association with Henry Geilfuss, a master local architect. The Henry Geilfuss House was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 24, 2017. It represents a key part of San Francisco's architectural history.
