Myrtle Street Flats
historic place
The Myrtle Street Flats, located at 234-248 Myrtle Street in San Francisco, were built in 1907. This construction responded to the housing demand after the 1906 Earthquake and Fire. Abraham Goodman, who owned the adjacent Emeric Building on Geary Street, developed these eight apartments. He also added a floor to his building. The Myrtle Street Flats and the connected Goodman Building are the only surviving example of this post-earthquake construction in this area. They are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Architecturally, they are unique within the city. This site reflects San Francisco's rebuilding after the 1906 disaster.
