Paige Motor Car Co. Building

historic place

The Paige Motor Car Company Building is located at 1699 Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco, California. This historic structure was built in two phases, in 1919 and 1922. Architect Sylvain Schnaittacher designed the building. It served as an automobile showroom, a prominent example on San Francisco's "Auto Row". The original tenant was the Paige Motor Car Company of Detroit, which operated from 1908 to 1927. They produced vehicles like the Daytona Speedster. Later, the building housed Graham-Paige cars and then Graham vehicles. Other dealerships followed. The Paige Motor Car Co. Building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. This site illustrates a significant era in San Francisco's automotive history.
