St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in San Jose, California, is a historic place in Santa Clara County. Its history began in 1803 with the first adobe structure, California's first non-mission parish. Over the decades, several churches on this site were damaged or destroyed by earthquakes and fire. The present Italian Baroque edifice, designed by architect Bryan J. Clinch, was dedicated on April 22, 1877. It became a cathedral in 1985 and a minor basilica in 1997.
