Pacific Coast Railway Company Grain Warehouse
historic place
The Pacific Coast Railway Company Grain Warehouse is located at 65 Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo, California. This historic place is the only surviving building from the Pacific Coast Railway's headquarters and the city's last grain storage building. Its construction date is uncertain; city records indicate 1885, but it may have been rebuilt in 1892 or 1893 after a fire. The wood frame and corrugated iron structure served as a vital transfer point for regional grain until the railway ceased operations in 1942. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 23, 1988, recognizing its importance to the area's agricultural and transportation history.
