Park Apartments, Santa Rosa

historic place

The Park Apartments, a historic place in Santa Rosa, California, is located at 300 Santa Rosa Avenue in Sonoma County. Constructed around 1904, it is one of the oldest multi-dwelling wooden buildings remaining in the area. Earlier wooden structures in downtown Santa Rosa were often demolished, with later buildings constructed of stone or brick due to fire risks. This two-story building features a distinctive two-tier design and a two-tier veranda, an architectural style uncommon for Sonoma County. It stands on what was the Old Redwood Highway, a main thoroughfare. The apartments are situated across from the Luther Burbank Home and Gardens and adjacent to Juilliard Park. The Park Apartments remains a focal point within the early 20th-century Burbank Neighborhood.
