Hacienda Arms Apartments
historic place
The Hacienda Arms Apartments, a historic place in West Hollywood, California, was built in 1927. This Italian Renaissance Revival-Mediterranean Revival style building initially served as luxury apartments for the entertainment industry. Celebrities like Marie Dressler and Loretta Young once resided here. In the 1930s, it gained notoriety as the site of a prominent brothel. Renamed the Coronet Apartments around 1940, it later saw a period of decline. Rock star Rod Stewart acquired the property in the 1970s. A fire nearly destroyed the building in 1983. On December 15, 1983, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. After extensive renovations, it reopened as Piazza del Sol in 1986, now housing offices and a restaurant. This site reflects West Hollywood's evolving history.
