Samuel Vaisberg House

historic place

The Samuel Vaisberg House is a historic home located at 257 West Olive Street in Long Beach, Nassau County, New York. It was constructed in 1927, during the boom years before the Great Depression. The house exemplifies the Spanish Revival architectural style. It is a rectangular, two-and-a-half-story residence with a stucco exterior and a clay tile, hipped roof. The design includes decorative art glass windows. A stucco garage is also part of the property. This style reflects the early development of Long Beach, where founder William H. Reynolds initially mandated an eclectic Mediterranean architectural theme. The Samuel Vaisberg House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. Its architecture provides insight into the planned community's early design principles.
