historic place

In Brooklyn's Prospect Heights neighborhood, the buildings at 375-379 Flatbush Avenue and 185-187 Sterling Place comprise a historic group. These four commercial and residential structures were built in 1885. They feature a Neo-Grec architectural style with Second Empire elements. The Flatbush Avenue buildings include a 3.5-story masonry structure at 377-379, known for its corner tower and mansard roof. Two single-family row houses on Sterling Place complete the ensemble. This group was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It is also part of the Prospect Heights Historic District, designated in 2009. These buildings collectively illustrate Brooklyn's late 19th-century urban development.
