Daniel Chamberlain House

historic place

The Daniel Chamberlain House is a historic place in Newark Valley, Tioga County, New York. Constructed in three phases from 1835 to 1865, it displays Federal, Greek Revival, and Italianate architectural styles. The most prominent section, a tall, two-story, front-gabled portion at the northeast corner, was built between 1855 and 1865. The rear wing is the oldest part of the structure. A small gabled building, originally a milk house, also stands on the property. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997 for its architectural significance, the house exemplifies evolving architectural styles within one historic residence.
