Cox--Craddock House
historic place
The Cox--Craddock House, located in Austin, Travis County, Texas, was built in 1928. Noted architect Hugo Kuehne designed this Colonial Revival-style residence. Its first owners were Robert A. and Linda Cox, both economics professors at the University of Texas. Robert Cox resided in the house until his death in 1947. In 1948, Linda Cox sold the property to Larry Inge Craddock, who had various business interests in Austin. Craddock lived in the house until 1984. During his ownership, Craddock enclosed the piazza and a sleeping porch; however, a later owner restored the piazza to Kuehne's original open design. The Cox--Craddock House was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 30, 2001, recognized as an excellent example of Colonial Revival architecture.
