The Henry H. and Bertha Sterzing Ziller House is located in Austin, Travis County, Texas. This historic residence was built around 1877. Henry H. and Bertha Sterzing Ziller purchased the property in 1881. Both Henry and Bertha came from prominent German immigrant families. The Ziller family, in particular, were among Austin's foundational settlers in the 1830s. Around 1891, the Zillers began making additions and modifications to the house, including elaborate Eastlake ornamentation on the porches. The house is an excellent example of Eastlake Victorian architecture. It remained in the Ziller family until 1939. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. In 2001, the Texas Historical Commission erected a historical marker, designating it a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. This site reflects Austin's German-American heritage and late 19th-century residential development.
