Woman's Club of Beaumont Clubhouse
historic place
The Woman's Club of Beaumont Clubhouse, a historic place in Beaumont, Jefferson County, was constructed in 1909. Designed by C. C. McDonald and built by contractor T. W. Thomas, this two-story frame clubhouse provided space for cultural collections, an auditorium, and a stage. It quickly became one of the area's earliest meeting halls, hosting community groups. Its first civic event was the 1909 banquet of the Oil Producers Association. During both World War I and World War II, the clubhouse supported war efforts, serving as a site for American Red Cross activities, including bandage making and supply drives. It also functioned for Civil Defense classes and as a relief shelter during local disasters. The Woman's Club of Beaumont Clubhouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. This building has served as a significant center for community and cultural activities in Beaumont for over a century.
