Bianchi, Didaco and Ida, House

historic place

The Bianchi, Didaco and Ida, House in Dallas, Texas, was built in 1912. Architects Lang and Witchell designed this Mission Revival style residence for Italian sculptor Didaco Bianchi and his wife, Ida. Bianchi's Southern Architectural Cement Stone Company utilized 'cement stone' in the home's construction. This Mission Revival style is a rare example in East Dallas. In 1936, it was featured as the 'House of the Future' at the Texas Centennial Exposition. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995 and became a Dallas Landmark in 2019. Ida Bianchi lived in the home for over 60 years. The site is significant for its architecture and the Bianchi family's contributions to Dallas.
