Bromberg, Alfred and Juanita, House
historic place
The Alfred and Juanita Bromberg House, located at 3201 Wendover Road in Dallas, Texas, is a notable historic place. Designed by nationally prominent architect O'Neil Ford and constructed between 1939 and 1940, this two-story brick residence exemplifies an early Texas regional architectural style. Alfred Bromberg, a prominent attorney, and his wife Juanita, a dedicated patron of the arts, commissioned the house. They were active in Dallas's cultural institutions, including the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts. The Brombergs sought a secluded home, and Ford designed the house to be subtle and integrated into its wooded, nearly five-acre site. Its features, such as screened porches, allowed for outdoor living and responded to the local climate. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990 and became a Dallas Landmark in 2003. It stands as an important example of O'Neil Ford's foundational work in Texas regional architecture.
