Clements Hall
historic place
Clements Hall is a historic place on the Southern Methodist University campus in Dallas, Texas. Built in 1915, it was one of the university's original two permanent structures. First known as the Women's Building, it served as a dormitory for female students. In 1926, it became a men's dormitory and was renamed Atkins Hall. The building was renovated in 1965 for classrooms and offices, then renamed Clements Hall, honoring former Texas Governor William P. Clements. Designed in the Georgian Revival style, Clements Hall was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. This building reflects the early development and changing functions of the university campus.
