Dallas Times Herald Pasadena Perfect Home
historic place
The Dallas Times Herald Pasadena Perfect Home is a historic place in Dallas, Texas. This Tudor Revival stone cottage was constructed in 1925. In the early 1920s, the area northeast of downtown Dallas, near White Rock Lake, was largely undeveloped. As developers began to subdivide land, the Pasadena Additions emerged. This home was a key part of a suburban marketing plan for these new subdivisions. The Dallas Times Herald newspaper collaborated with a developer and architect Arthur E. Thomas to build this and another showcase home. The newspaper chronicled the construction over seven months with weekly columns. Its formal opening in February 1926 attracted approximately 20,000 visitors. The Dallas Times Herald Pasadena Perfect Home was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. It exemplifies early suburban development and architectural trends in Dallas.
