Rush--Crabb House, Dallas, Texas
historic place
The Rush-Crabb House, a historic place in Dallas County, stands at 2718 Pennsylvania in Dallas. Built in the early 1900s, prior to 1903, it was among the first homes in the South Park Addition. This area developed starting in 1889, alongside the Dallas Rapid Transit streetcar. The Rush-Crabb House is a rare, intact example of early suburban housing in Dallas. It reflects homes for working-class residents during the city's early 20th-century industrial growth. This vernacular residence, featuring a T-shaped plan, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 23, 1995. Its survival provides a direct link to the initial residential expansion of South Dallas.
