Alexander Hogg School
historic place
The Alexander Hogg School, a historic place in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, was built in 1909. This school was named for Alexander Hogg, who served as the first superintendent of Fort Worth schools from 1882 to 1911. Fort Worth architect Marion L. Waller designed the building, and the Innis-Graham Construction Company built it. The Beaux Arts style school originally served seventh and eighth-grade students across the Southside of Fort Worth. In 2002, the Alexander Hogg School was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This designation recognized its architectural significance and its role in the history of education in Fort Worth. Between 1999 and 2001, the building was rehabilitated for use as an apartment complex. The Alexander Hogg School represents a notable example of early 20th-century educational architecture in the city.
