Anderson, Neil P., Building
historic place
The Neil P. Anderson Building, located in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, is a significant historic place. Completed in 1921, this eleven-story structure was designed by the architectural firm Sanguinet & Staats. It served as a cotton exchange for the Neil P. Anderson Cotton Company. Neil P. Anderson, a talented broker who lived in Fort Worth by 1882, helped the city become a leading center for cotton trading in the Southwest. The building featured seven skylights over its top-floor showrooms, where cotton was separated and graded. The cotton exchange closed in 1939, but the Anderson interests maintained ownership until 1963. In 1978, the Neil P. Anderson Building was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. This landmark recognizes its role in Fort Worth's commercial history.
