Fort Worth Club Building--1916

historic place

The Fort Worth Club Building, completed in 1916, is located at 608-610 Main Street in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. This six-story structure was designed by local architect John James Pollard and constructed by William Bryce. It was built as the new home for the Fort Worth Club, previously known as the Commercial Club. The club aimed for a larger building to reflect the city's growing economy and membership. The building features Classical Revival style with Arts and Crafts detailing. The Fort Worth Club occupied the upper floors, leasing the lower levels to commercial tenants. By 1926, the club moved to a new location. This 1916 building later housed the Mid-Continent Supply Company and was redeveloped into The Ashton Hotel in 2001. It holds local significance for its contribution to Fort Worth's social and commercial history.
