After the previous high school burned in December 1909, a new Fort Worth High School was constructed between 1909 and 1911. It opened in September 1911 on South Jennings Avenue. Designed by Waller and Field in the Classical Revival style, it served as a high school until 1918. From 1918 until its 1977 closure, it operated as a junior high. For most of its history, the school was segregated, serving white students. This building is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.
