Parker-Browne Company Building

historic place

The Parker-Browne Company Building stands in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas. This three-story industrial structure was erected in 1924. Its original purpose was a manufacturing plant and warehouse for the Parker-Browne Company, a producer of carbonic acid gas used in carbonated beverages. The building's design includes a rectangular plan and a flat roof. It is constructed from reinforced concrete, hollow tile, and brick. The exterior features regularly spaced brick piers that flank bays, which originally contained steel-sash windows. Concrete spandrel panels delineate each floor level. After World War II, the building transitioned to a warehouse for the Bekins Company. From 1964 onward, it has served as a warehouse for a musical instrument company. The Parker-Browne Company Building was officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 3, 2015. This site is historically important as a representative industrial building from its era.
