Pollock-Capps House
historic place
The Pollock-Capps House is a historic place in Fort Worth, Tarrant County. This Queen Anne Victorian style home was built in 1898 for Dr. Joseph R. Pollock. Its design has been attributed to architect Howard Messer. In 1909, the mansion was sold to William Capps, an attorney, and his wife Sallie. Their family resided here until 1971. The property once included a golf course, a tennis court, and a three-car garage with a ballroom. This area, known as "Quality Hill," featured Victorian homes of prominent bankers, businessmen, and lawyers. The Pollock-Capps House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. It was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1977. This site represents a significant example of Fort Worth's early 20th-century residential history.
