The Cheek-Neal Coffee Company played a role in introducing prepared coffee for home use. By the 1920s, their business held a significant share of the U.S. coffee market. Operations at this site continued until the late 1940s. Recognized for its historical importance in the coffee industry, this building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a City of Houston Protected Landmark.
