Heights State Bank Building

historic place

The Heights State Bank Building, at 3620 Washington Street in Houston, Texas, is a historic place. Designed by architect Joseph Finger, this classically detailed Renaissance Revival style building was completed in 1925. It first operated as the Citizens State Bank, later becoming the Heights State Bank in 1946. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 22, 1983. In 1978, Taft Architects rehabilitated the structure, transforming it into Rockefeller Hall, a popular nightclub. After 1997, it served as an events venue, and since 2016, it has hosted live music. This building remains a notable example of commercial architecture and adaptive reuse in the Houston Heights area.
