Houston Heights Fire Station
historic place
The Houston Heights Fire Station, a historic place in Harris County, was constructed in 1914. Architect Alonzo C. Pigg designed this building. It originally served as the Houston Heights' city hall, jail, and fire station. The structure features decorative brick and cast stone work, in Tudor Revival and Jacobethan Revival styles. After the City of Houston annexed Houston Heights in 1918, the building became Fire Station Number 14 for the Houston Fire Department. It operated in this capacity until 1995. The station was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. A historical marker was erected in 2001. This site illustrates the early municipal history of Houston Heights.
