Jensen, James L., House
historic place
The James L. Jensen House, located in Houston's Harris County, was built in 1914. This historic, one-and-a-half-story wood frame house features an L-shaped floor plan and a three-bay front porch with Tuscan-style columns. It exemplifies a working man's cottage with Queen Anne style influences, common in Houston Heights during the early 20th century. Carpenter James L. Jensen constructed this residence. He also built eight other houses in the area between 1915 and 1939. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 17, 1990. This site highlights the architectural style and a local builder's contributions to Houston Heights.
