Judson L. Taylor House
historic place
The Judson L. Taylor House, a historic place in Houston, Texas, was completed in 1916. This Colonial Revival style house is located at 20 Courtlandt Place. It was designed by Birdsall Briscoe, and was the last of six works he completed in the neighborhood. The house was originally home to Dr. Judson Ludwell Taylor and Jessie Carter Taylor. Dr. Taylor, born in 1881, earned his medical degree from the University of Texas in 1903. He retired from the United States Navy in 1912 and then established a general surgery practice in Houston. Jessie Carter Taylor, also born in 1881, was the daughter of Maude and W. T. Carter Senior. The couple married in 1903. This house is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places. It represents early 20th-century residential architecture in the Courtlandt Place area of Houston.
