Link--Lee House
historic place
The Link-Lee House, a historic place in Houston, Texas, stands in Harris County. It was constructed in 1912 for businessman John Wiley Link. The architectural firm of Sanguinet, Staats & Barnes designed this Neo-Classical Revival style building. It was the first home completed in the Montrose subdivision, which Link developed. Oilman Thomas P. Lee purchased the house in 1916. In 1922, Houston architect Alfred Finn made alterations. The Link-Lee House features a pronounced portico, elaborate brickwork, and terra cotta ornamentation. In 1946, the Catholic Diocese of Galveston acquired the property. Since 1947, it has served the University of St. Thomas. Designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 2001, this site showcases significant residential architecture and its connection to the Montrose area's development.
