Snyder, Fred and Annie, House

historic place

The Fred and Annie Snyder House, located at 2701 19th Street in Lubbock, was built in 1928. Cattleman Fred Snyder and his wife, Annie, had the home constructed so their children could attend Lubbock schools and Texas Tech. Prominent local architect Sylvan B. Haynes designed this two-and-a-half-story Colonial Revival residence. Its design, inspired by Mount Vernon, features balanced symmetry and a two-story portico. The house reflects Lubbock's growth and prosperity during the 1920s, a time of significant development for the city. The Fred and Annie Snyder House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on January 28, 1992. This site offers insight into Lubbock's architectural and developmental history.
