The Andreas Breustedt House in New Braunfels, Comal County, is a historic place. Johann Andreas and Caroline Dauer Breustedt built this home in 1858. It showcases German Colonial 'Fachwerk' architecture, with walls framed by cedar timbers and filled with sun-baked adobe brick. Several generations of the Breustedt family resided here. In 1965, the house was moved for restoration and preservation by Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Dillen. A historical marker was erected in 1972. That same year, it became a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. The house was also entered into the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. This structure offers insight into early German settlement and architectural traditions in New Braunfels.
