Alamo National Bank Building
historic place
The Alamo National Bank Building, a historic place in San Antonio, Bexar County, was completed in 1929. This 24-story structure quickly became a prominent part of the city's skyline. The Alamo National Bank, organized in 1890, commissioned this building at 154 East Commerce Street. It served as one of San Antonio's tallest office buildings for many years. The building features a large stained glass window depicting the Alamo. In 2005, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, the building operates as a hotel, its grand lobby restored. It stands as a notable example of early 20th-century architecture in downtown San Antonio.
