historic place
The Heimann Building, a historic place in San Antonio, Texas, is located in Bexar County. This three-story brick structure was constructed in 1909. Noted San Antonio architect Atlee B. Ayres designed the building. It originally served as a hotel within the Cattleman Square Historic District. The Heimann Building was notable for being the first hotel in San Antonio to feature both a telephone system and air conditioning. Today, the Heimann Building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Following a 2001 renovation, it became the San Antonio headquarters for the nonprofit Avance. This building stands as an example of early 20th-century commercial architecture and innovation in San Antonio's hospitality sector.
