Schroeder-Yturri House

historic place

The Schroeder-Yturri House, a historic place in San Antonio, Bexar County, stands as a one-story stuccoed-limestone residence. It features Italianate details, characteristic of a late nineteenth-century San Antonio house. George Schroeder was the earliest known owner, residing here until 1910. Later, E.H. Yturri owned the home from 1936 to 1965. The City Water Board, now the San Antonio Water System, renovated the house for use as a museum. It later became vacant. This property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 14, 1975. The Schroeder-Yturri House is historically significant as an example of late nineteenth-century architecture in San Antonio and for its association with its early owners.
