Southern Pacific Railroad Passenger Station
historic place
The Southern Pacific Railroad Passenger Station, also known as Sunset Station, is in San Antonio, Texas. Built in 1902, its Spanish Mission Revival architecture was designed by Daniel J. Patterson and John D. Isaacs. This station is considered one of Texas's finest examples of Mission Style railroad architecture, and in 1975, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The station served as a passenger hub for the Southern Pacific Railroad. Amtrak used the station until 1998. After Amtrak relocated, Sunset Station was restored and now operates as an entertainment complex. This site reflects San Antonio's railroad history.
